Mental Health Navigator

Job Type: Full-Time (Until December 31st, 2025)

Qualifications:
-
Working towards or hold a degree or Diploma in Human Services and/or adequate experience/course work related to mental health and addictions
-
Valid first aid certificate
-
Proficient knowledge of the Indigenous culture
-
Knowledge of the GPFC and it’s programs
-
Knowledge of community resources
-
Mental Health First Aid an asset
-
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) an asset
-
Crisis Intervention an asset
-
Provide a current and cleared Criminal Record Check
-
Provide a current and clear Alberta Child and Youth Intervention Check, as well as from all provinces resided in the past 3 years.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills in a variety of settings
-
Competent in basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook
-
Reliable registered vehicle, driver’s license, driver’s abstract and valid insurance including 6A endorsement (if needed)

Be willing to work evenings and weekends, as needed, on a flex schedule
-
Be comfortable acting as an advocate for participants
-
Can encourage a healthy life balance and work with clients on challenges they may face in achieving this
-
Ability to remain professionally detached when engaging with emotionally charged clients by remaining calm and focused on resolution.
